Warm-Up, Schwarm-Up

Warming up doesn’t have to take up the short amount of time you have allotted for your daily weightloss workout. In fact, a decent warm up only has to be about five minutes long to do its job. Your warm up should be exciting – mix up a number of moves to make your warm up fun as well as preparing your body for your weightloss workout. Remember that a good warm up gets all of the muscles moving, even if you don’t think that you’ll be working out that set of muscles on any particular day. Regardless of the type of weightloss workout, warming up is important.
A proper warm up routine gets your body ready for more intense physical activity, but it shouldn’t be strenuous. It’s more about getting the blood flowing to muscles that you may not use a lot during the day, but will need during your weightloss workout. Good warm up moves include activities such as jogging in place, doing jumping jacks, doing lunges, and jumping rope.
A good warm-up also includes stretching your muscles in a variety of ways. Stretching is also particularly effective after a weightloss workout, during the cool down. Use this time to stretch and strengthen the muscles that help with your balance, flexibility and form.
If you’re really short on time, why not try warming up before you even start “working out?” Slowly jog or power walk to the gym, park as far away as possible and lunge to the door, and take the stairs instead of the elevator. That way, when you get to the gym or wherever you do your weightloss workouts, your warm up routine is already half way complete. Talk about multitasking!
A good warm up steadily builds in intensity. Your weightloss workout should also steadily build in intensity, keep it at a high level for fifteen minutes to twenty minutes, and then ramp it back down. This is the best way to shed pounds and maintain a healthy weight. Weightloss workouts can be risky if you don’t warm up, as this increases the likelihood of injuries. Resist the temptation to skip the warm up! Your health is worth it.

it is really important to stretch out before starting your fitness routine, but you should warm up a bit before stretching out either by walking or jogging. this will prevent tearing any muscles before stretching.
